RE: Biochemistry/Biotechnology Lab Position
Thank you for receiving the attached CV (viewable and downloadable at www.SuzannesTutoring.com/Suzannes-biotech-CV) as part of my application for your position. I am a degreed professional with experience in Biochemistry laboratory benchwork and am very interested in speaking with you for the opportunity to present myself as your ideal candidate.
I originally completed my higher education in the health and nutrition field, with an Ed.D. and N.D. in Natural Medicine, specializing in the pharmacology of vitamins. I provided consultations to clients aiming to holistically improve their health, and for many years I also tutored STEM subjects to students entering the medical field. Eventually, I began training other college tutors using a four-tentpole learning methodology I developed based on experiences both as an educator and a student myself. My career has progressed towards biotechnology and biochemistry stemming from my interest in a deeper understanding of the biochemical pathways in the metabolisms of living systems.
I have experience in both chemistry and microbiology-based applications of scientific laboratory analysis, across numerous fields. It has educationally been an extreme benefit working in different areas such as research and quality control, most recently in agricultural sciences and nuclear medicine. In addition to analytical assays, working in the laboratories at the Bridgepark/Danforth Center as a student has afforded me advanced training in genetic transformations, primer design, PCR, bioinformatics, CRISPR, protein purification, mammalian cell culture, microbiological tests in sterility, bioburden, bacterial endotoxin and identification, and more.
My experience, education, ability to rapidly and accurately learn new protocols, and my overall job performance instill in my employers the confidence to quickly entrust me with leadership roles and advanced responsibilities. I have hired and managed assistants, designed and written SOPs and their protocols, and proofread company SOPs for accuracy and USP/ISO requirements, and I am also very familiar with supervisory roles in monitoring lab GxP compliance under FDA and DEA regulations.
I completed my most current degree in Biotechnology with Magna Cum Laude honors and Phi Theta Kappa distinction. While recently attending school, I worked operating two “Bone Rooms” (Anatomy & Physiology student labs) on two college campuses (Forest Park and Florissant Valley) where I also tutored Anatomy & Physiology, Sciences, and Mathematics. From this, I recognized an immediate need by incoming college students and subsequently formed the YouTube channel “Suzanne’s Tutoring”. I became a content creator for several academic tutorials, which I then expanded to over 100 hours of interactive educational materials and online assistance for students studying from home in response to the COVID-19 shutdown. For this, I received an appreciation award from both the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees Chairperson of the college.
After these past 5+ years of continuous laboratory experience in myriad areas of the applied sciences, I am now looking for a mid-level laboratory position at a company offering autonomous opportunities with room to grow. I am open to positions where I can utilize my skills in chemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, nuclidic and bacterial and chemical identification assays, and/or designing and writing SOPs.
I value both learning from the people around me and working independently. My performance best shines when working with a project-oriented focus built upon clearly stated deadlines and expectations. A friendly professional culture in an environment conducive to direct and open communication will earn my respect the fastest. I am driven by my own initiative, can multitask, and am very effective at time management.
Please take a few moments to review my CV as you consider me for this position. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Before launching straight into the technicalities, first I'd like to provide some very effective study tips for everyone!
I try to speak slowly and clearly to include everyone's needed processing speed. However, if you find that I'm speaking too slowly for your attention span, just speed up the playback speed to 1.5, 1.75 - or even 2x if you're adventurous!
